Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?
We are still on 434!
How do we get Sonys attention on this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
But you never updated to 4.2.2
It's just that specific firmware version that can cause lags. Hopefully this will be adressed in the next update.
no but with previous sony phones and the 434 update i had used pcc.
sony will never fix this, if they were they would at least address it so we know they are aware - clearly they dont care and they must know by now that there is a problem
I have just updated to 4.2.2 on my UK unbranded phone with generic ES software, using the method on a previous post. If you're really ****ed off that Sony haven't released it, then it is worth doing and really easy using the step-by-step instructions. I was really skeptical about doing it, but now I'm really glad that I did it. Thanks to Nick89 for the link to the xda page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614)
And still nothing.
Bump.
I specifically asked on Sony UK's facebook page it the next update we get will be 4.2.2 and got ...............NO REPLY.
Sony stopped offering firmware support for its Flagship phone the month after it was lauched in the UK truely shocking.
I sent one to @sony xperia on twitter and just got the bog standard its currently rolling out.
Not really much of an update but at least its not a definite no!
Hi Adam, all Xperia Z handset are currently expected to receive software updates. There has been no confirmation regarding any updates being cancelled or not released for certain branded or unbranded handsets.
However, we don't have dates for when each handset will receive it with this being a gradual roll out so I wouldn't be able to advise when you can updat
this isn't really an answer as to why we're still waiting for the 4.2.2 upadate and still being 3 updates behined the rest as sony have told alot of people about that statement that you've just posted
Don't let this get to you. Just chalk it down to a very bad experience, and make sure you never spend another penny on Sony products again, and make others aware of their atrocious customer support.
I'm on holidays at the moment, and when I get back, I'm selling my Xperia and getting a Galaxy S4.
