Hi,
I have problems transferring files (pictures and mp3) from my PC to my Xperia Z.
I have tried dragging the files in My computer and using Media Go.
In Media Go I have set preferences to minimise conversion of mp3s.
I always get error messages about transfer of files.
Could anyone help?
Regards

I don't have an answer I've never had a problem transfering any files - music - photo's - video
you need to rule out the PC and the only way to do that is to try another one
are you using MTP mode
if just using a file manager (my prefered method) it should copy the file no matter what format and don't convert
keep us posted but I'm out of ideas

I use raw transfer using widows file manager (explorer) I don't convert anything - I did need to clean up some of my mp3 tags which were wrong - stuff like artist name album name corrections on certain tracks, I used an app called MP3Dit from the play store that worked extremely well
I also found some video formats that wouldn't play using the default movie app so I did a little research and ended up installing MX Player pro which plays everything without conversion
can you describe your issue with a little more detail - try mounting your phone and doing a raw transfer as I described above (don't use mediaGo) and share what happens

Hello,
many thanks for your reply.
I have tried with the raw trasfer of mp3 and from windows file manager (that is what I meant by "I have tried MyComputer", before). The transfer window opens but the upload is extremely slow and eventually an error message appears.
The same pretty much happens when I use MediaGo.
I have tried restarting the computer, the phone, changing USB ports, changing USB cable...nothing.
On my last attempt I have received a new error message: "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. Although this device supports audio files, it does not support .mp3 files. If possible, use a media program that can convert the file before copying it".
Which sounds weird to me as I already had some mp3 on my memory card and they are read just fine......

Following these suggestions http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/support/faq/xperia-z/troubleshooting/usb-file-transfer-isnt-working-2/
I have realised that there seems to be some issue with my 4 GB Scandisc SD Card (it connects/disconnects....connects/disconnects).... I have attempted a file transfer with no SD card but still nothing
