Hiya,
I'm going on a safari to South Africa later on this year and am looking at obtaining a lens / Tele-Converter to tie in with my A55 and I want time to 'play' with it before going.
The perfect solution would be to use the SAL-20TC but I am getting conflicting information so I thought that I would go to the source.
Here is my setup that I will be bringing with me:-
Sony Alpha 55 with SAL-1855and SAL-55200/2
Minolta Dynax 7D with equivalent Minolta lenses to above (interchangeable with the A55 - Yipee!!)
The Teleconverter would be used on the A55 only. Now the spec sheet says that it is only compatible with certain lenses, but the US Sony website says that the TC works on the A55, contrary to the UK site.
Who should I believe???? Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
Flitchman

OK, yes you can !!
The SAL14TC & SAL20TC can be used with any Alpha but the problem is with what lens it can be used with.
From the manual - http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2685152111.pdf
Supported lenses
70-200 2.8G (SAL70200G)
300 2.8G (SAL300F28G)
135 2.8 STF (SAL135F28)
70-400 (SAL70400G)
Other lenses such as the 18-55 may not even fit due to the mount is slightly different. Best thing before making the purchase is visiting a store and trying it out.

in this days there are no reasons to use a duplicator, has only a reason with the 300f2.8 wich quality is not ruined from the added lenses in the chain, here is a very nice comparision, take a look:
