KD65XE9005 - auto picture detect issue - I think!

My tele is doing this really irratating thing where’s it randomly appears to autodetect either the input or the sound. It brings up the info bar at the top when it does this and mutes the telly whilst doing so for a few seconds. This happens quite a lot when I’m using the Netflix app and browsing through the thumbnails. It will sometimes even go to the lengths of blacking out the screen for a second too. Although this seems to be more when we are using the Nintendo Wii

I have disconnected all hdmi cables and have only the Ethernet cable connected to enable the built in Netflix and it still happens.

my router and network switch are the other side of the Room. As I have mentioned before I have tried several different cables with several different devices and the problem still

occurs. Its a problem with the telly. I’ll be contacting Sony in the morning so hopefully they can sort it. It’s not even a year so hopefully they can replace it

Hi @kd3554,

May I ask how do you have the TV connected to the mains at the moment? Directly to a power socket on the wall or through a power strip with multiple other devices?

It might be worth testing if connecting it directly solves your issue. Obviously for this test you also want to disconnect all devices from your TV again.

Keep us posted!

Cheers,

Dutchice

Hi @kd3554   I don’t know if I missed it, but have you tried a Reset/Factory Reset? If not give that a go and then make sure that you turn off the info banner (to stop it appearing when the audio changes). This is now just about standard as it affects all the latest TVs.
