One headset working

My headsets are not broken, they work properly on other devices but as soon as I plug them on my Xperia L2 only the left one plays. Tried using new headsets but I still have  the same problem. Tried cleaning the port with dry tissue paper and cotton buds but still the problem persists.

I've tried to look for settings relevant to my problem but I found nothing. I know from my earlier phones (that have earlier versions of android) that there was an option to shift sound to the left or right earpiece of the headset but I can't find the settings on my phone (android 7).

If anyone has any suggestions please help a brother out

Hi @KhulaM, sorry to hear about this.

There is no setting by default in the device that you can use to shift the sound between the earpieces, so it sounds like there is something not working correctly with the audio jack in your device.

You can try and perform a software repair using Xperia Companion, just so we can make sure that this is not caused by the software in the device. Remember to create a backup though, as all data stored on the internal storage will be deleted when performing the repair.

If you still can only hear sound from the left earpiece after the repair has finished, contact your Local support team and they will arrange a repair for you, since at that point, it's a hardware defect.
