Should i be worried, apparently complaints are comming in already for this new tv on dark verticle lines either side of the screen!, i have seen this before on the LG i had that went back for a full refund as it was the area where the ribbon cable joins at the screen for the backlight (could be seen from the front) i had 3 of them and the engineer said its not right, heres the pics of the Sony.

Edited links to work properly (originally double http)
Palhil,
thats a logical theory as i got off the phone from my dealer earlier and was chatting about this and that's the conclusion we came up with so yeah, i agree with that, essentially its the same tv whatever the model no. (929/923) with different tuners etc.
Hi Lee - is there any official update as to the situation and also what caused the "crease". Thanks
It has indeed gone all quiet. Contacted Sutton Sony Centre and they have heard nothing from Sony.
Would be nice to have confirmation of the AVS Forum information to reassure us nervous buyers that Sony have sorted the issue. Plus a vague idea on when we might expect to see the new batch in the flesh.
The cause so far has already been covered as the earlier post stated, did you not read it!
Lee Please can you take a look at the questions posted since friday and provide some answers and updates Thanks
As you will apprieciate StartTheCar is currently busy in talks at Sony for the official explanation to this particular issue and will get on here when he has it, so far its to do with the Adhesive used to bond the screens together which has not cured properly, Why those of you require the technical aspect of this is beyond me as its not really relevent, what is, is that those of us with the faulty sets will get them replaced shortly through their dealers once Sony has been in touch with them when a program is in place to do so.
@Bravia55HX923 - yep I read it but that is far from an official acknowledgement from Sony UK - it's actually second hand information via the US based AVS Forums from a telephone call with an engineer. The responses from Sony here have dodged the question.
Hi,
no they have not dodged the question, it is the Adhesive thats caused it, you must understand that Sony has to provide an official response before they can post it on here.
Knowing the fault, and knowing that it is fixed is very relevant to would be buyers of the TV, mine was sent back from the shop before delivery and thus far the lack of technical information regarding the fault is feeding conspiracy theories. If I know Sony have discovered and also know how to rectify the fault then I will have confidence in my £3000 purchase.

I would have thought that a response here on the official Sony forums would constitute an official response?
Perhaps not
