Should i be worried, apparently complaints are comming in already for this new tv on dark verticle lines either side of the screen!, i have seen this before on the LG i had that went back for a full refund as it was the area where the ribbon cable joins at the screen for the backlight (could be seen from the front) i had 3 of them and the engineer said its not right, heres the pics of the Sony.

Edited links to work properly (originally double http)
Not in the slightest. I spend plenty of my own time in and around online communities and see every bit of value they offer. We have been a little slow off the mark when it comes to social media, but that is all about to change and I for one am very excited about it!
Lee.
Three cheers for you Lee - well done and thank you for all your help and assistance.
Yep Thre cheers 🙂

Hi Lee, this just in from the US site at AV Science Forum http://ww.avsforum.com/avs-vb/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=20694409 "Sony's reply re: the "crease" we found on our HX929 review sample (see Uniformity update here: http://cnet.co/pxGKPO):http://cnet.co/pxGKPO): "We’re aware of the issue and are still investigating the matter globally. It seems the instances are very isolated, but we’re still attempting to identify cases and root causes. At this time, we don’t have a comment prepared and are still investigating the matter. When we have a formal statement, you’ll be the first to know." Could you please shed some more light on the crease issue going on over here in the USA? Or if not could you please direct me to (Live) active Sony Forum who has a active Sony rep like yourself who speeks for us USA customers? This crease issue is also on our 929's over here and we just want to make sure Sony is a where of it. Any help you could give would be great, thank you.

Site seems to be having some issues, I tried to edit my post to fix the sentence merging but was presented with a "site is down for Maintenance". Anyway sorry for the merged paragraph. Lol
StartTheCar,
recd my replacement TV today.... seems to be the non-crease version confirmed by the dealer who had checked. He did not give me the extra pairs of 3D glasses and said it would be directly from Sony. I am guessing that would be you or your colleague.
thanks again. Let me know if you need my details.
regards

Great news but still check yourself to confirm and let us know, Oh and send pictures to if you can, thx
saw it last night... couldn't see the crease from the viewing angles I tried. so quite happy - bear in mind, I am no videophile. Will try to see if I can take some pictures and post it today or over the weekend.
Radtech51:
Just wanted to post the link to this official Sony US forum that has been trying to highlight the crease problem in the States: https://forum.sel.sony.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=9718
There still hasn't been a response from Sony in the US forum above, so if Lee or anyone else could try to get that link in front of the right people all of the US owners experiencing the crease would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks again for all the info this thread has provided.
Hi Lee, I recieved my replacement tv today and although it about a 100 times better than the previous one, the crease is still visible, but not really on everyday viewing, now what I need to know is whether it should be visible at all, if not then I guess I need to arrange another replacement however if not then, I will wait a few days and see if it gets any worse and whether I can live with it or not.
