Android M does not support xperia xa to use sd card as internal memory.

This features is available on android M but in xperia xa this features was removed. I was really disappointed. This is one of the most important features. Please fix this.

Hi Rijuga,

Welcome to the community,

No device we provide on the Marshmallow software will have this function, unfortunately this function impacts quality and performance.

Although this may change in the future, only time  can tell, however I do not believe that it will.

No OEM's included adoptable storage in there mm roms, that alone should tell you how reliable it'll be its c##p and in many cases it is no better than the out of box sd card set up. People are still running out of space as not everything can be put on the sd card anyway even with adoptable storage enabled. If you must use it Google it its already been done on the xa and many other Xperia devices with a few adb command lines. Adoptable storage is a good idea in theory let down by crap tech and the fact that not everything can be moved anyway.

I realize all the update I did to the xa ultra came down to 10gb left of internal storage it a shame

16gb are more than enough, the problem is not in the 16gb per se but in apps that are of gigantic proportions and that store cache and other data into the internal storage and only optionally, if available, in an SD card.

Get rid of Facebook, Google Plus and the various fb messenger, Instagram and Pinterest and you will realize how 16gb is a good compromise.

If I uninstall so many apps then what will be left. Another problem is we get several menaingless apps in Sony Xperia out of the box, which have been preloaded by Sony to test the tolerence of its customer & we can not remove them. Very sorry state of affair..

Bloatware is another issue, shame on Sony and all the other pro-bloatware carriers/OEMs and yes, here I agree with you but still, 16gb are more than enough.

I am actually using a Z3c and a C5, both 16gigs of internal storage and a very great selection of software installed, the biggest problem is Spotify that grow in space daily (my maximum was about 1.5gb in app and cache) . Once a month the phone will warn about low space and with one click I move pictures to the SD card, clean caches and... Having both phones with 4gb of free space again.. Until next month.

I also have Xperia Z ultra ( 16 GB) which runs on Lollipop. It supports to move apps partially to SD card due to this I experienced no problem as far as internal storage is concerned. Sony should seriously think about this, if they wants to survive in smartphone sector. Otherwise, I don't think any body will be loyal to Sony band. To be honest, Sony should recall xa dual model from the willing customer.
