Get some antivirus program installed in your device... For virus blocking and do not install apps directly from websites get from trusted store like google play..
If you can't stay away from from installing apps from external sources then watch icon of app displayed on installation screen as most of fraudulent apps don't have any icons.
For staying away from ads use moded version's of apps (at your own risk)..
