HSPA+ not working with Xperia Z C6602

I purchased the C6602 model mainly to go with T-Mobile HSPA+ but it doesn't seem to work properly. Data speed is extremely slow (50Kbps/100Kbps download/upload) and I only see the letter "E" (for Edge?) instead of H for HSPA on my signal bars.

I've tried all kinds of different APNs but nothing changed. I also tried my sim card on my friend's iphone 4S and it worked perfectly fine with 4Mbps/1.5Mbps download/upload, so the problem must be from the Xperia Z.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Thanks.

I know its a long shot but what if you get a brand new micro sim card, i know it works with the iphone 4s as you mentioned it above but its worth a try.

Oh it's actually a new sim card that I just activated a few days ago.

Did you buy your Z from the same telco? If not, can you bring the phone to the telco and ask them to check if your phone is compatible with the network?

No I bought it from Newegg.com and I'll try to bring it down to a T-mobile shop later to see if it would help. But I mean, isn't the C6602 model designed to work with T-mobile HSPA+ right out of box?

Ok, T-Mobile shop can't do anything about it. I also called 611 for troubleshooting and they did reset my network connection but nothing changed. Does anyone know what's the best way to contact Sony before I assume this phone's HSPA is defective and return it?

Alright, I just chat to a Sony Rep and he says that the phone (C6602) will only get Edge with T-Mobile since T-Mobile uses kinda like half HSPA, half LTE signal so the phone's attenna cannot receive full HSPA. That just sucks as I have been using T-Mobile for a long time and I really love the phone.

Now he says that C6602 would work with At&t and its sub-companies HSPA. What are these sub-companies of At&t we are talking about?
