HSPA+ not working with Xperia Z C6602

I purchased the C6602 model mainly to go with T-Mobile HSPA+ but it doesn't seem to work properly. Data speed is extremely slow (50Kbps/100Kbps download/upload) and I only see the letter "E" (for Edge?) instead of H for HSPA on my signal bars.

I've tried all kinds of different APNs but nothing changed. I also tried my sim card on my friend's iphone 4S and it worked perfectly fine with 4Mbps/1.5Mbps download/upload, so the problem must be from the Xperia Z.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Thanks.

I'd be greatly appreciated if you could share your APN settings thepanttherlady

I just posted the other screen shot showing the model and what it's running. Have you confirmed that you received model C6602 and not C6603? Please don't take that as an insult to your intellegence it is not intended that way. When I received mine, I didn't open it until I could confirm it was the C6602 and the box is mostly in Japanese! Took me a few minutes to finally find the model # on the box. Slightly_smiling_Face

If you purchased the phone through Newegg they should be the ones that are responsible for a faulty handset (if you're within the return period), not Sony. I'm sad you're in this predicament. Slightly_frowning_Face

I mean the settings inside that T-Mobile GPRS APN. And yes, the model is C6602 as indicated at the bottom of the phone.

Yep, tried everthing, still getting Edge. Might have to return for replacement then. Thanks everyone for being so helpful. Winking_Face

@goldbranch, I'm almost certain that you set the APN as they were posted above, but what about Bearer? leave it unspecified and also APN type: default and nothing else. its a long shot but hey its worth the try
