I purchased the C6602 model mainly to go with T-Mobile HSPA+ but it doesn't seem to work properly. Data speed is extremely slow (50Kbps/100Kbps download/upload) and I only see the letter "E" (for Edge?) instead of H for HSPA on my signal bars.
I've tried all kinds of different APNs but nothing changed. I also tried my sim card on my friend's iphone 4S and it worked perfectly fine with 4Mbps/1.5Mbps download/upload, so the problem must be from the Xperia Z.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
Thanks.

Trust me, I've set everything exactly like thepanttherlady did as he's getting HSPA+ with C6602 while I'm not. I'm gonna return this phone anyway since model C6602 is supposed to be working with HSPA right out of box, not to give me too much hassle over the last few days.
you should return it
ok so this is what i've came up with after going thru serveral tests. So, when i plugged in my tmobile sim after getting the phone yesterday i ran speed test with the suggested APN (all 3) and the method of going to xperia->download internet settings...i still ended up with only 0.7 mbps on speedtest.net. Then i took my sim card and ran it on the demo xperia Z c6602 @ sony store and got the same results. So i borrowed one of my friend's tmobile nexus 4 sim and plugged it into the C6602 and ran speed test and was able to get edge 5-8mbps.
In conclusion, i think it has to do with ur tmobile plan depending on which one u have!
Hope that helps!
